This new year, there is so much to do, so much to achieve and so many adventures to go on. At the start of the year, take a minute to think about the year that’s gone by. Reflect on the wins you’ve had and sit down and think about the goals you have for this year. But before you start working towards any of it take a minute to evaluate your health.

One of the most important pieces of advice that I can offer to anyone is to undergo a regular cancer screening. Life is too precious to not spend some time on your health. A regular health screening is certainly one that can help reassure you about your health. Not just cancer screening, I would suggest getting a more wholesome health check-up to confirm that things are great.

I would suggest starting with finding the right doctor and hospital who can guide you with the list of screenings that you should get. While there is no point in getting paranoid but better to not live in denial either.

A few things you can start with are regular blood work and then proceed to get the other tests, if you’re a woman in your 30s you can get a mammogram and cervical cancer screening, apart from that everyone can get other preventative screenings for colon cancer, lung cancer.

If you are a smoker, you need to work on quitting. Not just the risk of cancer, but smoking leads to various other health issues as well. It’s not worth taking risks. Same with excessive consumption of alcohol. In fact, if you feel that any aspect of your life is negatively impacting your well-being, you must work on changing it and replacing it with a healthier distraction.
