When survivors swap stories, there is a good chance they see that their treatment plan was different to what their friend, cousin or another person received.

The field of research for the treatment of Cancer is changing on a daily basis. Cancer research has a history of over 200+ years. Our understanding of cancer treatment is evolving; there was a time when Cancer was practically ‘untreatable’, and now, look at how far we’ve come. With Proton Therapy, we’ve not only got good clinical outcomes, but we can also localise treatment to the tumour and save other organs without many side effects, unlike traditional therapies like Chemo. We’ve also moved away from radical exploratory surgeries and are looking at less invasive procedures to detect and treat Cancer.

Additionally, treatment plans depend on various factors, including the type of Cancer, prognosis, age of the patient, and so much more.
